Highlights at a glance
Quarried in the Drama region of northeastern Greece, Volakas Marble features a predominantly white to semi-white background complemented by natural grey veining.
The stone can display linear, wavy or cloud-like grey patterns. Since every slab develops naturally, vein movement and intensity vary from slab to slab.
Its recommended applications include countertops, sinks, flooring, wall applications, paving, pool coping, sills, monuments, mosaics and ornamental stonework.
Volakas Marble can be processed with polished, honed, brushed, leathered, tumbled, sandblasted, bush-hammered, machine-cut, waterjet and other finishes, depending on the project specification.
The provided technical data reports a density of approximately 2,825 kg/m³, water absorption of 0.19%, compressive strength of approximately 139 MPa, and flexural strength of up to 10 MPa under the cited test methods.
The white background and grey veining make Volakas Marble suitable for kitchen countertops, islands and other interior stone surfaces.
Its low reported water absorption and available polished or honed finishes make it suitable for vanity tops, sinks and selected bathroom applications when properly fabricated and maintained.
Volakas Marble can be used for residential and commercial interior flooring, creating a light-colored natural stone surface with distinctive vein movement.
Suitable for interior wall applications, feature walls and decorative wall cladding where the natural veining can become part of the design.
The stone is listed for pool coping and sills. Project-specific fabrication, finish selection and installation requirements should be considered for areas exposed to moisture and weather.
Can be fabricated for steps, architectural elements, monuments and other decorative stonework.
Its white and grey color combination can be used for mosaic and waterjet-cut patterns, particularly in decorative interior applications.
Suitable for selected hotel, restaurant, retail and commercial interior applications where natural Greek white marble is specified.

F&Q
Q1: What is the tolerance for veining direction of Volakas marble?
A: Vein direction can follow your requirement. Minor natural deviation cannot be fully avoided, we will show layout pictures in advance.
Q2: Is Volakas marble suitable for exterior wall project?
A: Not highly recommended for full outdoor exposure. Freeze‑thaw cycles and strong UV will accelerate discoloration and surface degradation.
Q3: Can you supply small sample piece before bulk order?
A: Small cutting samples are available. Samples only reflect general tone, they cannot fully represent full‑slab vein performance.
Q4: What is your quality sorting standard for Volakas marble?
A: We separate into different grades based on background whiteness, vein thickness and defect counts. Pictures of corresponding grade will be shared for reference.
